I happened to read or follow sports a lot! I mean A LOT. Albeit not playing much rite now... ESPN Sportcenter tirelessly fed me with info on the sport champions of my time. Let me share with you guys a few of the current world No. #1 in their various sports
Tennis - Roger Federer
Golf - Tiger Woods
F1 - Senor Alonso
MotoGP - The Doctor, Valentino Rossi
Women Tennis - Amelie Mouresmo or is it Maroa Sharapova
Women Golf - Anikka Sorenstam
Women Squash - Nicol Ann David
And guess what I actually managed to meet her kat Roadwalk, Lorong Kulit Penang!!! Arghh!! She's a true Malaysian World Champion. Single handedly dominating the game in every age group shes in. Now in a senior level... she is the current World Champion.
All Malaysian like us, salute Nicol David and she is the icon to show that Malaysia really Boleh. The light is actually is at the end of the tunnel.

On 4 December 2005, she beat Rachael Grinham from Australia to become the youngest world champion.
Nicol was also named WISPA Player of The Year for 2005 as she won six WISPA titles, the World Games gold medal and the World Open title on 4 December 2005. She has been a sports icon in Malaysia and the Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was quoted saying that David is "now more famous than me".
Nicol David... Keep up the good work... May you dominate Squash for many years to come... and We all Caya Lu a lot!!!

Every loves Nasi Kandaq!!!
Some like it with Fish, Some like it with chicken, some like it with beef and some like it with various squid, prawn, hati, limpa anda all.
As for me Curry Fish and a hard-boiled egg is enough. Now Nasi Kandaq is overly commercialised. U can have yr plate of Nasi Kandaq all over the country at various mamak restaurant. In Klang valley franchised nasi Kandaq came in various brand, Pelita, Kayu Nasi Kandaq, D'Kayu Nasi Kandaq (eh macam Sri Raju vs Sri Raaju laaa pulak!!), Syed Restaurant, Subaidah, Langkapuri, Khalifah dan macam macam lagi. Lotus pun dah ada Nasi Kandaq takde Halal Jakim!
To me, they just cannot beat a plain roadside nasi Kandaq stall in Penang. Maybe it is just me but I certainly confirmed all the above brands in KL could not even come close for the one I hv in Penang.

Selain daripada Roadwalk, Nasi Kandaq, Padang Kota and Komtaq.... memang laaa tak sah kalau tak pi makan kat Padang Brom. Tahun ni Mama tak ikut sebab letih sangat beraya kot.
Kat Padang Brom ni best Mee Rebus, Mee Goreng and Pasemboq. Tapi sebab kenyang sangat beraya siang tadi... we settle dengan mee and koayteow goreng je... Have a look laaa. Nyum Nyum
For those yang tak penah pi... dia betul2 kat belakang Balai Polis Dato' Keramat off Perak Road. Dah dekat sangat dah dengah Road Walk.

Curt Cobain was here....

It was interesting to know that Curt Cobain got the idea to name his band after a small street in Penang.
We saw this street like ages ago when Smells Like Teen Spirit is still playing in the air waves. At that time there is no camera around.... even when we actually have 1, abah was driving the car or we were on the way to somwhere and did not have a real chance to take this historical photo.
But that fated nite after a Roti John hangover (ironically a name of Nirvana's other hit), we have a chance. Lighting was not so good but I guess NIRVANA was clearly spelt out.
yeah!!! we finally did it!! And it is for evrybody to see.

Wonderful!! At 5am in the morning, we managed to find a wicked Roti John unlike anything we've seen in Klang Valley. Originally it was an effort to find Nasi Kandaq. To our surprise our familiar "Line Clear" joint was closed.
We settle down with this small kiosk by the roadside by the name of Gerai Makanan Noordin exactly opposite of D'Kayu Restaurant at Penang Road. It was brilliant. We wud recommend anybody or evrybody to try this. I may try to produce it again kat umah and if I succeed... I wud probably prepare a similar recipe just like my Farak AF Murtabak maggi. check out http://myfaiz.fotopages.com/?entry=954232

Raya tahun ni macam raya2 tahun lain gak. Tapi tahun ni Abang Nazim ada kat Shah Alam. He is so very close to us so we spend sometime berhari raya at the Hospital before we shoot off to Penang.
This is how oir malam raya and 1st raya itinerary goes:
23 Oct @ 7 pm - Buka Puasa kat PD. We spent the malam raya at PD. Sibuk dengar mercun jiran2 melatop-latop (velvet). We did not play though as my eldest daughter Nashua freaked out whenever she heard one of those fire crackers explodes.
24 Oct / 1 Syawal @ 830am - Semayang Raya kat Masjid Kg. Paya PD. Tahun ni pegi dengan Ajan. Macam biasa Ayah dah awal2 lagi pergi ke mesjid.
24 Oct / 1 Syawal @ 1130am - Sampai Port Klang. Rumah Arwah Tok Mama. Ni lah kali pertama tak beraya without Tok. Naturally not all uncles dropped by. Pak Im was missing... but the family was there. Pak Mas was also missing. But suprisingly the rest was around even Pak Afed. They came around Zuhur Time with his cucu and menantu. After beraya and exchange duit raya. We left for Shah Alam B4 penang. Siblings wise, Only Hanim and Fahan was missing. Hanim pi belajaq kat OZ (See http://myfaiz.fotopages.com/?entry=918990 ) and Fahan raya umah suami dia in Muar. Ye laaa logiklaa sebab the rest of the Raya will be spent in Penang.
24 Oct / 1 Syawal @ 3pm - Beraya rumah Mummy sect 3, Shah Alam. Raya at their house was gloomy as well as Abah Taufek just passed away a bout 2 weeks before Ramadhan. See http://myfaiz.fotopages.com/?entry=945494
24 Oct / 1 Syawal @ 430pm - Beraya dengan Pak Ngah Nazim at Columbia Asia
24 Oct / 1 Syawal @ 630pm - Shoot to Tg Malim for Penang's rendevous point.
24 Oct / 1 Syawal @ 10pm - Farhan and Lin (yg sedang pregnant) arrived at TG Malim after a 5 hours journey fm Muar. Ya Allah kesiannye diorang.
24 Oct / 1 Syawal @ 1130pm - Luckily emi co-piloted Farhan's car and we had a couple of stops between TM and Penang at Tapah and Sg. Perak. We arrived at Penang at 430pm. Had an early breakfast, Semayang Subuh kat Masjid and Pi Roadwalk.
Huh What an eventful 48hrs

This is a new Mykeluarga tradition in the making. This is not even a Buka Puasa. This is the Mykeluarga Burger eating championship of the year. Please note that this is an OPEN championship where we invited other Burger eating champion from other families to compete with our in home-grown Champion.
2006 is the 2nd edition of the championship. Basically the winner will be based of the burgers or items (chicken porridge, fried chicken and etc) they ate at the end of the 1 hour eating madness which I promised the competitor wud not touch any burger again for a long time.
Desserts and drinks will not be counted.
2005 Winners
1st. Emi!! The undisputed ate 11 burgers and god knows how many other items he ate that night. He was a true athlete. Totally in a league of his own.
2nd. Joint 1st runners up. Faiz Hakim and Azreen.. both ate 5 burgers each
3rd. Hanum and joint 4th. Bazam and Feedoz
2006 Winners
1st. Emi!! but at a lower achievement. He only managed to eat 9 burgers. 9 different kind of burgers. Pure genius at work
2nd. Bakim!! 6 burgers + 3 items
3rd. Azreen!! 5 Burgers + 3 items
Let see how the others fared. (not in ranking)

Mira (New Comer) 3 + 2
Hanum 5 + 1 (She did tried to smuggle 2 Big Mac out....)

We will see what happens in 2007. Until we meet again next year. We hope to continue the tradition for as long as we can until of course.. Mc Donald's realised that they actually making a loss by allowing us in. I think easily we gobbled up around 55 burgers and 30 items. Itu belum campur ice cream, coke and all. Whoaaaaa...

Was it great to see the greatest??? Too bad that I couldn't leave the stall to catch Nicol alive! But, it's good too see that my 2 brothers managed to tackle her (for a while...)
Another great Penang food... My first time and it was really satisfying.... Oh! we purposely went to the stall opposite D'Kayu Restaurant because we didn't want to eat something that can be found in KL... Let's try something different??? If we go restaurants, it's like having McDonalds in Penang, am I right???
